We’re pleased that our first official post on the news blog is to announce that we’re returning to a venue very dear to our hearts. On 23rd July 2016 we take the stage at the Gunmakers Arms.
A lot of details are yet to be confirmed about the show, but we can tell you one or two things right now. We expect to be at the brand new events stage out back (right next to the brand new Two Towers brewery) and we’ll be playing some brand new songs. We are headlining, and the manager has asked us for a whole hour – which makes this the longest show we’ve played since the new line-up formed last year. Other bands are still, for the most part, under discussion. We’ll let you know who else is playing as we hear confirmation from the venue.
Needless to say, the Gunmakers Arms is a venue very dear to our hearts. We use it for most of our band meetings and have had the privilege of playing there several times in our previous incarnation. This is the first time that Harlequin’s Kiss 2.1.1 has rocked this venue out. It’s barely on the outside of the Queensway, acting as a gateway to Birmingham’s historic Gun Quarter (we actually rehearse in an old munitions factory not far away) and is soon to celebrate its 200th birthday. We’ve been planning to come back to the pub’s stage for some time and the owner, Mark, has seen this as an opportunity to showcase some of the best of Birmingham’s rock scene. Hence the Rock Fest title. The Gunmakers Arms is at 92 Bath Street, Birmingham B4 6HG.
This is going to be a blast. We’re looking forward to this gig immensely. More details will follow as we hear them. Watch this space.
