Gunmakers Arms tonight

There has been a last-minute change of line-up at this evening’s show at the Gunmakers Arms. Charlotte Young is unfortunately unable to perform. Instead we’re proud to present Redditch-based acoustic duo Act of the Risen.

Act of the Risen is an energetic acoustic act from redditch and Wolverhampton who do a wide range of covers and original and are always looking to push.

The Gunmakers Arms is at 92 Bath Street, Birmingham, B4 6HG

We’re pleased to announce that we’re joining Forever Sabbath on stage at the Giffard Arms on 24th November.

Forever Sabbath is a Black Sabbath tribute act covering both Ozzy and Dio eras of the band.

Details are being finalised and we’ll announce them as we get more information. We do know that tickets will be £5 and will be available via the bands very soon.

Harlequin’s Kiss at The Victoria

Harlequin’s Kiss are pleased to announce that we have successfully completed a video audition for this year’s national Soundwaves Music Competition. This means that we will be competing in the live auditions in Birmingham along with a number of other bands.

Harlequin’s Kiss will be performing in the second afternoon audition on 4th November at 2.30pm. As you can guess from the headline, this will be at one of Birmingham’s best-loved small venues, The Victoria. For the small sum of £5, you can be there to support us, as well as see some of the finest West Midlands musical talent on stage with us.

Tickets will be available on the door, and can be bought in advance here. When filling out the order form, remember to select “Birmingham Live Auditions (4th November)” and showtime “2.30PM”. It’ll be a boost if you fill our name out in the fan box.

Besides the prestige of playing in the Victoria, what this competition offers us is the possibility of playing the main stage at the local O2 Academy, and the possibility of joining a UK tour. The competition is judged on performance and musicianship, but having some of our favourite harlequins in the building with us can’t hurt.

The Victoria is at 48 John Bright Street, Birmingham, B1 1BN.

5th November – support confirmed

We’re pleased to announce that for our show at the Gunmakers Arms we will be supported by no less a talent than Charlotte Young.

Young is a country singer-songwriter from the West Midlands. A frequent traveller and performer, she is constantly creating new music and new experiences. Inspired by the country greats and classic rock icons, she is bringing a little bit of Nashville to Birmingham.

The evening kicks off at 7.30 pm and is free entry.

Harlequin’s Kiss in Redditch this Friday

Harlequin’s Kiss have been booked to play the Queen’s Head in Redditch this Friday. Other acts are to be confirmed, but we will be playing our full show on Friday 15th September. Doors open at 8pm. The Queen’s Head is on Queen Street, Redditch, Worcestershire, B98 8AY.

Roadhouse Show Cancelled

We apologise to anyone who’s travelling down for our “featured act” spot at the Roadhouse’s open mic night tonight. We have been informed by the venue that a power issue has forced them to close this evening. We will be back for a standard slot sometime this month, and we’re working with the organiser to set a new date.

Gig Announcement: Gunmaker’s Arms

Harlequin’s Kiss will be back by popular demand at Birmingham’s Gunmaker’s Arms on 5th November.

Now run by the Two Towers Brewery, the Gunmaker’s Arms is the scene of the band’s debut gig back in June 2012. Every time we have played there, we’ve received a universally enthusiastic response, and we’re looking forward to joining their regular run of musical Sunday evenings. We hope to announce support bands soon.

The Gunmaker’s Arms is at 92 Bath St, Birmingham, B4 6HG.

Roadhouse Featured Act

We’re pleased to announce that Harlequin’s Kiss will be the Featured Act at the Roadhouse’s regular Monday open mic night on Monday 4th September. We’ll be bringing our full (short) show – bear and all – for the half hour slot. This gig will mark the official debut of our new rhythm guitarist Nathan Howells.

Roadhouse open mic regulars will have seen Nathan with us when we’ve played regular slots over the last few months. He’s a perfect fit for the band, and we think he’s ready to take the stage with us fully. So come on down and show some love.

The Roadhouse is at Wharfside Leisure Complex, Lifford Lane, Stirchley, Birmingham, B30 3DZ.

Matt’s final show: Harlequin’s Kiss hit The Hare and Hounds

Harlequin’s Kiss are back, this time for MacMillan Cancer Support. We’ll be sharing a bill with Modern Day Delilahs – a tribute to Kiss, along with Got the T-Shirt and our old friends Uncle Jim. Tickets are £5.

Modern Day Delilahs seem to be new to the tribute scene. Following the footsteps of a band with a stage presence like Kiss, we expect this will make for an explosive night at the legendary Birmingham venue.

Got The T-Shirt are an established 4 piece Pop/Rock Party Covers Band based in the West Midlands, covering artists from the heavier side of the Sixties including The Kinks and The Stones, through to modern heavyweights such as Kings Of Leon and The Killers.

Uncle Jim shared a stage with us in Cheslyn Hay, and bring you a unique blend of songs from artists such as Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, Velvet Revolver, The Who and many more.

This will be a special gig for us, as it marks the departure of rhythm guitarist Matt Frobisher. Matt is retiring from music for the foreseeable future, and whether you were a fan of his acoustic punk solo project, his theatrical metal group March of Fate, or his work with us I’m sure you’ll join us in wishing him well for his future. We’re going to make this the gig you remember him by, so it will be well worth your while to see what is set to be a massive night of classic rock in King’s Heath.

The Hare & Hounds is at 106 High Street, Kings Heath, Birmingham, B14 7JZ
